Christopher Peter Meloni has been known as a well-known American actor throughout his career. He is most popular for the roles he played in "Law and the Special Victims Unit". From his early college days Meloni had a keen interest in acting. He then studied at The University of Colorado at Boulder. Though he has been active on film and television but it was his character in the smaller screen which gave him popularity and much fan following. He is able to play two characters, one from the perspective of the police as well as the different. That's what makes him so popular. His initial project was a TV serial and later, he played an officer for the NYPD. Because of his appearances on smaller screens, he's been awarded numerous nominations for the prestigious Emmy Awards as well as PRISM Awards. One of his most striking facial features is believed to be his piercing blue eyes that are regarded to be a trademark and help in portraying the rough and savage characters with a sense of humour. The actor was featured on People's list of Sexiest Men Alive in 2006.
